The Cell.Plus Journey
In 1995, Cell.Plus began in a very small, one room store on the city Square in Baraboo, Wisconsin. It was Andy Kamla’s first business but not the first for his family. Andy and his brother Matt grew up in an environment of business with their father, David Kamla having run the popular “Leisure World” electronics store in downtown Baraboo for many years. Dave instilled a values-first business style into both Andy and Matt and that has served both throughout their lives. Andy’s brother Matt works as the Director of IT and Internal Audit with Cell.Plus.
From day one, Andy’s primary focus and passion has been to provide excellence in customer service. That commitment shapes him as a servant leader, guiding the growing company within a culture that emphasizes not only care for the customer but care for the staff within the organization along with the local communities in which they serve.
A major part of the Cell.Plus mission is to give back and serve the communities we operate within. We actively support the Boys and Girls Club, Hope House, People Helping People, Agrace Hospice Care, local school districts, and many more. If you know of a need or an organization in your community that you would like us to consider supporting in the future, please visit our Community Impact page and submit a request there.
In 2022, UScellular reached out to Andy and the Cell.Plus team with a big request. They communicated that they wanted to grow and they wanted Cell.Plus to be a significant part of that growth by taking part in a transition plan along with opening 5 brand new UScellular stores in Wisconsin. Cell.Plus is now in the midst of that plan having expanded from 10 locations as of January 1st, 2022 to 17 as of August 24th, 2022. Two additional locations will open prior to the end of 2022 with the final two opening in early to mid 2023 bringing the total number of stores for the organization to 21.
Wisconsin Cell.Plus locations as of August 2022 are as follows: Adams, Baraboo, Black River Falls, Chilton, Green Bay East, Holmen, La Crosse, Mauston, Reedsburg, Richland Center, Shawano, Sparta, Spring Green, Suamico, Viroqua, Wautoma, and Wisconsin Dells. Additional locations to open in September will be in Two Rivers and Seymour. Locations in Pulaski and Arcadia will be the last stores open in the current growth plan.
Cell.Plus has received the national ‘Elite Performer’ award from UScellular 9 of the 10 years the designation has been in place. Elite Performer status is given to Agencies who not only have achieved operational and performance excellence, but for also being an outstanding partner with U.S. Cellular and delivering excellent customer service. “It’s an honor to be recognized for doing something we are so passionate about in making a positive impact on our customers and in our communities.” said Cell.Plus owner Andrew Kamla.
